About Tetrahedron Provincial Park

Tetrahedron Provincial Park encompasses over 10,000 hectares of protected wilderness on the southern Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. The park features a diverse range of landscapes ranging from dense coastal temperate rainforests to alpine meadows and rugged peaks, including the prominent Tetrahedron Mountain. The area is known for its ecological richness, including old-growth forests, numerous freshwater lakes, and diverse wildlife such as black bears, mountain goats, and various bird species. Historically, the area was traditionally used by Indigenous peoples for hunting and gathering. Today, it is a favored destination for outdoor enthusiasts who are drawn to the challenging trails, spectacular viewpoints, and relatively untouched nature. Popular activities include multi-day backpacking, mountain biking on designated trails, fishing in pristine alpine lakes, and winter snowshoeing. The park’s trail network connects to nearby communities like Sechelt, making it accessible yet remote enough to offer solitude. The Tetrahedron Lodge, located just outside the park boundaries, provides accommodations and serves as a gateway for many visitors. The park is recognized for its role in protecting critical watersheds and old-growth forest ecosystems, contributing to regional biodiversity conservation. Visitor appeal is centered on its combination of rugged mountain terrain and coastal climate, creating opportunities for year-round recreation amidst striking natural beauty.
